As much as I try to get rid of my inner critic, I keep her alive when I criticize others. In shifting my criticism from myself to others I still feed the inner judge.

It's only when I can be non judgmental that I'm truly free.

Imelda

Great tips. I really like point 2 because I think that one of the most effective and simple stress management techniques is right under our nose – breathing. Diaphragmatic breathing counters the stress response and has a calming effect on the body. I have written about different breathing techniques at:
http://www.stress-management-for-peak-performance.com/breathing-exercises.html
Thanks

We have little control over what happens in the world around us - what we do have control over is our response to what happens in our world. If we believe in ourselves and trust that we will be able to cope with whatever happens then we are less likely to be stressed and worried and try to control the outcome. Trust that you will figure out how to deal with whatever happens - maybe not always in a smooth and perfectly skilled way - but that you can survive it, work it out or ask someone for help.

These are great suggestions - easy to remember and easy to implement in life. The comment, 'learn to tolerate uncertainty and unpredictability' is good advice; how does one go about learning that?
